Alzheimer's Association

In the result of a partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Michigan Chapter, 8th grade reading enhancement students learned that this disease is a disorder of the brain that gradually destroys mental capabilities. One of the first warning signs is memory loss. One in 8 persons over age 65 and nearly half of those over age 85 have Alzheimer’s. Every 70 seconds a person in the United States is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. We would like to thank our guest presenter, Theresa Russo. The students learned about a disease that has a significant impact on our community.
